Since starting her new talk show, Bethenny Frankel has lived up to her SkinnyGirl brand name by featuring different ways to rock those skinny jeans. This week, Bethenny took on the merits of raw food diets as well as Rocco DiSpirito. We've got the skinny here.
Bethenny hosted a raw food detox diet that included Ani Phyo, a nutritionist and author of "Ani's Raw Food Detox: The Easy, Satisfying Plan to Get Lighter, Tighter, and Sexier . . . in 15 Days or Less" (click for details). Ani says that by eating a raw food diet, you can boost your energy levels and blast fat.
In addition to cleansing and detoxing your body, raw food diets make it easy to shed pounds because they optimize your metabolism, according to Ani. Because her weight loss plan features unprocessed foods, your immune system becomes stronger, your skin gets clearer and you have more energy.
Even though the raw food diet doesn't involve conventional cooking, Ani says that you can create everything from soup to gourmet main dishes to dessert, while eating nothing heated above 100-115 degrees. To prove it, she's concocted cookbooks such as "Ani's Raw Food Essentials: Recipes and Techniques for Mastering the Art of Live Food" and "Ani's Raw Food Desserts: 85 Easy, Delectable Sweets and Treats."
Also this week, Bethenny featured Rocco. He is the author of "The Pound a Day Diet: Lose Up to 5 Pounds in 5 Days by Eating the Foods You Love" (click for details) and "Now Eat This! Italian: Favorite Dishes from the Real Mamas of Italy--All Under 350 Calories." Bethenny expressed concern that his weight loss plan requires too much preparation and complicated ingredients. However, she did like the fact that he allows more food and choices on weekends. Rocco defended his diet, explaining that it also has easy-to-prepare options.
