Bethenny Frankel has amassed a fortune over the past several years, and fans wonder what financial package Jason Hoppy will get in their divorce. Us Weekly reported on Wednesday, Jan. 2 that the Skinny Girl mogul and reality TV star’s assets are protected, thanks to a prenuptial agreement.
Frankel, a former “The Real Housewives of New York” cast member was given her own Bravo shows “Bethenny Getting Married?” and “Bethenny Ever After, “ and her Skinny Girl empire continues to grow, which includes Skinny Girl shape wear. In 2011 Frankel sold her Skinny Girl margarita line for an estimated $100 million. Forbes estimates Bethenny Frankel’s net worth at about $55 million from mid-2010 to mid-2011 alone.
Among the assets in Frankel’s empire are Bethenny’s best-selling books, healthy lifestyle company, Skinny Girl which includes workout DVDs, Skinny girl shape wear, snacks and cocktails. Jason and Bethenny own a $5 million four-bedroom apartment in New York City.
Sources say Bethenny and daughter Bryn Hoppy will remain in the apartment and Jason Hoppy will move out. Radar Online reported on Friday, Jan. 4 that Frankel had taken Bryn to Aspen, Colo. over New Year’s in order to give Jason an opportunity to make arrangements to move out of the NYC loft, which is in the same building as Jay-Z and Beyoncé.
Another source told Us Weekly that the couple is “devastated” that they could not make the marriage work. Frankel and Hoppy often butted heads over her incredible financial success, how much time they would spend with Hoppy’s close-knit family and gender roles. The source says, “They really tired. They grew apart. She [Bethenny] is very upset.
Shortly after announcing the split from Jason Hoppy, Frankel tweeted:
“I am heartbroken. I am sad. We will work through this as a family.”
Sources tell Us Weekly that the split between Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy is amicable, at least at this time. Fans wonder with so much at stake, even with a prenuptial agreement, will Jason Hoppy seek alimony from Bethenny?
