Bethany Frankel is making the split from husband Jason Hoppy more final. TMZ reported Jan. 5 that Frankel has filed for divorce. Court records in New York confirm that she filed a summons for divorce earlier this week, which is the first step in the divorce process. Frankel and Hoppy announced that they were separating last month.
The former "Skating with the Stars" contestant did not use the divorce word when she publicly mentioned that she and her husband were separating.
"It brings me great sadness to say that Jason and I are separating. This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family."
The couple married in 2010 and have a two-year-old daughter together, Bryn. Frankel and Hoppy's relationship and marriage were recorded in two reality shows, "Bethenny Getting Married?" and "Bethenny Ever After..." There were reports earlier this week that the two were still living together in spite of the separation. The couple has a prenuptial agreement according to RadarOnline. According to Forbes, the former "Real Housewife" is worth about $12 million.
Bethenny isn't afraid to reveal her heartbreak. She took to Twitter to share that she has been communicating with friends in this time of need. In this case, it is talk show host and friend Hoda Kotb. Frankel tweeted: "Time with @hodakotb is just what the doctor ordered :)"
