Bethenny Frankel has hired the same legal team that represented Katie Holmes in her divorce from Tom Cruise, In Touch reported on Jan. 25.
Frankel has retained the law firm of Aronson Mayefsky & Sloan to represent her in her divorce from estranged husband Jason Hoppy. The high-profile practice also represented Katie Holmes in obtaining her divorce from Tom Cruise, settling the Cruise/Holmes divorce in less than a month. Holmes legal team also included Jonathan Wolfe, an attorney with a separate office in New Jersey.
Jason Hoppy filed a divorce petition last week in answer to the divorce petition filed by Bethenny Frankel approximately two weeks ago. Hoppy is asking for full custody of the couple’s almost three-year-old daughter Bryn Hoppy, as well as exclusive use of the couple’s $5 million marital residence in New York. Bethenny’s divorce petition asks for the same.
Sources say that Hoppy has told Frankel she will end up just like her mother, Bernadette Birk, and that Bethenny is ruining her relationship with her daughter Bryn, who will grow to resent her as Bethenny resents her mother Bernadette.
Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy were married in March 2010 and the wedding was shown on their Bravo reality television show “Bethenny Getting Married?” Jason and Bethenny went on to star in another Bravo reality television show, “Bethenny Ever After” which followed the couple through the first two years of married life, often airing the Frankel/Hoppy relationship problems dealing with marriage and parenthood.
