Bethenny Frankel is speaking out against people who criticize her stunning 29-pound weight loss just three weeks after giving birth to daughter Bryn.

Some have argued that Frankel's touting her rapid weight loss on the cover of the new Us Weekly sends a dangerous message to new moms, who feel inadequate by comparison.

'I WAS HEALTHY BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER PREGNANCY'

Bethenny, who flaunted her svelte physique in a red swimsuit (on the Us photo below), has already lost 29 of the 35 pounds she gained while pregnant with Bryn, who was born via C-section May 8.

“Do I think it’s an unrealistic message to be sending? If I gained 80 lbs. and expect to come back, that’s unrealistic," Bethenny, 39, told Access Hollywood on June 3. "But the truth is I'm healthy before, during and after [my pregnancy].”  Bethenny_Frankel_loses_pregnancy_weight_gain_Real_Housewives_weight_loss

The 5'4 Frankel, who was 117 lbs. before her pregnancy, even weighed herself on TV, tipping the scales at 122.5 lbs. Thursday.

Bethenny, author of the diet book Naturally Thin, says she didn't undereat while pregnant, but she also didn't overeat.

PREGNANCY NOT AN EXCUSE TO OVEREAT

“I didn’t diet when I was pregnant, but I also didn’t binge,” she explains. “My theory is people who gain 60 to 70 pounds...you’re eating like a maniac! [They] think [pregnancy is a] license to go off the rails.”

The Real Housewives of New York star adds: “I ate healthy and I did eat sweets. I do love to indulge a little, I ate whatever I wanted, but not like a crazy person.”

Frankel, who stayed active throughout her pregnancy by walking 45 minutes a day and doing yoga, says much of the 29 pounds she lost so far was due to water weight loss.

“I think when I left the hospital, I had probably lost around 25 pounds," Bethenny recounts.

Meanwhile, Bravo executive Andy Cohen, who's the producer of Bethenny's new reality show Bethenny Getting Married, isn't surprised that Frankel has slimmed down so quickly.

“Bethenny is a healthy, healthy lady, so whatever she’s done, I’m sure she’s done it the right way," says Cohen. "She’s a driven woman, she has a fitness video out. If she’s not going to lose the weight, I don’t know who is!”

Bethenny's Getting Married premieres June 10 on Bravo.

I'm so fed up with Jill Zarin and the way she is portrayed in the press and on TV. Just last night she was on EXTRA promoting a book that is well known to be garbage. A. Chandle the #1 reviewer at Amazon.com has been threatened and harrassed by Jill Zarin. Jill Zarin has written positive reviews for her own book under fake names while posting negative reviews to her castmate’s books. She also has a history of posting fake reviews dating back to 1995 at the Fabric store her husband owns.
Please keep this woman off TV and out of the press. It is time for her to pay the consequences for her actions.

Jill is all about her at any cost, Kelly is insane, Louann is two faced, Bethenny is real, Alex is true, Ramona is very verbal.
Jill need to own up and really change without proof (watch the show!) Kelly needs to shut up and grow up, Louann needs to find herself and not agree with whoever she is with, Alex is moving to the top, Ramona keep up the transition, Bethenny move ahead you go girl your a wonderful roll model. Hey it would'nt be a show without the drama which was out of control this season. Jill and Kelly shame on you both.

I have no problem believing that Bethenny lost her baby weight so fast. I had twins, only gained 17 pounds and lost 40 before they were two weeks old. And I was overweight before getting pregnant and didn't execise. It was just water and literally fell off of me!

Bethenny's fast weight loss is amazing but she never got that big. Her arms and legs stayed thin while she was preggers and she had her baby early, so it's not that surprising. I dont think she gained a lot of fat.

Love Bethenny, she is soooo real. I like people like that

I used to think Bethenny was pretty nice but I am sad she thinks it is okey to talk bad about heavy people. Not everyone is as perfect(?????) as you.

If losing all you're baby weight quickly and healthy makes you look like bethany, I will stay overweight for a while. She looks like someone took all the air out of her and left the extra skin. HORRIBLE!!!

I've lost almost all my pregnancy weight w/o dieting or exercise within weeks after giving birth. Like she said I didn't eat like a crazy person and gained the recommended 20-35 pounds. I was about 140 pounds before my babies and am about 140 pounds today after 4 babies in 5 years. Genes and common sense go a long way.

I can fix fat, but Bethenny, you can't fix ugly...
