Skinny Girl founder Bethenny Frankel thinks her soon-to-be ex-husband Jason Hoppy is stilling wearing his wedding ring “purely for sympathy,” Radar Online exclusively reported on March 1. Allegedly Jason told Bethenny that he is still wearing his wedding ring so that their almost three-year-old daughter Bryn will “not be confused.”
A Radar Online source said:
"Bethenny just can’t understand why Jason is still wearing his wedding ring! It makes absolutely no sense to her because they have zero plans for reconciliation.”
Frankel announced her separation from Hoppy just before Christmas and filed for divorce just weeks after the announcement. At the time of the Frankel/Hoppy separation announcement, Bethenny said that she and Jason were amicable and that they would continue to co-parent their daughter Bryn. However, things got ugly when Bethenny filled for custody of their daughter and demanded child support from Hoppy. Jason filed his own motion for divorce, mirroring Frankel’s demands.
The source says:
“Bethenny thinks he’s [Jason] doing it [wearing his wedding ring] to garner sympathy and to appear as the wounded party.”
Frankel believes Jason’s claims that removing his wedding band will only confuse Bryn are ridiculous, claiming, “ That reasoning doesn’t fly with Bethenny because Bryn is still too young to understand that her parents are getting divorcing [sic], or to even comprehend what that means.”
Reportedly Bethenny has been spending time with her friend and “close confidante” of 20 years, billionaire hedge fund whiz Warren Lichtenstein. This may be the man Jason believes Bethenny “emotionally cheated” on him with while they were married. Allegedly Lichtenstein and Frankel have been “growing closer” since Bethenny’s split from Jason.
“Jason has told Bethenny he doesn’t want Bryn to be around Warren, but she doesn’t care what he wants. Warren adores Bryn and Jason can’t tell Bethenny what to do anymore.”
