Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy are getting divorced. It appears that they both agree that it is time to call it quits, but they are both disappointed that they couldn't make it work. US Magazine reports that they are approaching the divorce in a friendly matter.
"They're both devastated...they really tried...They grew apart. She (Frankel) is very upset.”
The couple got engaged less than a year after meeting in 2008. They married when Frankel was seven-months pregnant with their daughter, Bryn. Unfortunately, Hoppy had issues with his soon-to-be ex-wife's financial success and found it overwhelming. As for Frankel, she had problems with her soon-to-be ex-husband's family being so close. They had additional problems that they just couldn't seem to work out.
Could millions of dollars be at stake for Frankel due to her financial success? Forbes estimated that Frankel obtained a profit of $55 million in just one year, from mid-2010 to mid-2011. She also sold her margarita line for about $100 million in 2011. In addition to all that, Frankel has accumulated profits from her four books that have made the New York Times bestselling list, her talk show in 2011 and her Skinnygirl empire.
Frankel is fortunate that there is a prenuptial agreement in place that will settle the question of who gets what. Of their many assets, it is believed that Frankel and her 2-year-old daughter, Bryn, will continue living in their New York City apartment that is worth $5 million. The four-bedroom apartment happens to be in the same building as Beyonce and Jay-Z.
This seems like such a devastating, unnecessary divorce due to the fact that both husband and wife wanted the marriage to work and they have a young daughter together.
