BET Awards: Stars arrive on the red carpet and complete winners list

The BET Awards took place live from the Nokia Theatre at LA Live in downtown Los Angeles, California on Sunday, June 29th.

The evening was hosted by comedian Chris Rock and aired on the BET Network.
The nominations for the awards are in 20 categories and are selected by BET’s Voting Academy.

Performances and appearances by Pharrell Williams, Missy Elliott, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Lil’ Wayne, Lionel Richie, Robin Thicke, Trey Songz, Kevin Hart, Kerry Washington, Nicki Minaj, John Legend, Jhene Aiko, August Alsina, Larenz Tate, Bow Wow, Keshia Chante.T.I., Tyga, Iggy Azalea,Yolanda Adams, Chris Brown, Ledisi, Gary Owen, Gabrielle Wilson, M.C. Lyte, Mike Tyson, AdrianMarcel, Tyrese Gibson, Zendaya, Phylicia Rashad, Omarion, Peter Thompson, Nick Cannon, and more.

The audience was filled with different entertainers in all fields including cast members from BET shows "The Game", "Being Mary Jane", "Real Husbands of Hollywood", El Debarge, Nelly, Eric Benet, Big Tigger, Angela Simmons, Aaron Spears, Adrienne Bailon, Amber Rose, Paris Hilton, Chris Paul, Doug E. Fresh, Neyo, Erica Hubbard, Dr. Bobby Jones, Lou Gossett Jr, David Mann, Tamela Mann, Diggy Simmons, Joseph "Rev Run" Simmons, Elle Varner, Future, French montana, Holly Robinson Peete, Ghetts, Jacob Latimore, Jonathan McReynolds, Karrueche Tran, Keke Palmer, KEM, Kierra "Kiki" Sheard, Michelle Williams, Marsha Ambrosius, Luke James, Malcolm D. Lee,Robin Townsend, Sevyn Streeter, Tamar Braxton,Tameka "Tiny" Harris, Sam Sarpong, Terrence Jenkins, Tony Rock, Trevor Jackson and more.

Big winners included Beyonce with three and Pharell Williams and August Alsina who each won two awards.

Pharrell Williams opened the show performing "Come Get It Bae" backup by cheerleaders dancing and a surprise apperance by Missy Elliott.

Other highlight performances included Chris Brown performed his song "Loyal," which included appearances by Lil Wayne, Tyga and Travis Barker. Ledisi, John Legend and Yolanda Adams performed in The tribute to Lionel Richie. Richie then accepted his Lifetime Achievement Award before taking the stage himself to perform "Easy" his hit when he was a member of The Commodores and his single "All Night Long."

Usher performed a medley of his hits, including " Nice and Slow" "U Remind Me", "U Don't Have To Call, "Yeah!" "Confessions," "Caught Up" and "Love In This Club before closing the show with his current single "Good Kisser" which started with him playing the drums.

Nicki Minaj performed "Chi-Raq" and "Pills N Potions which featured guest vocals from Season 12 American Idol finalist Burnell Taylor.

A surprise performance by groups Troop, Color Me Badd and Silk got the audience on their feet, as each group performed in a medley of their hit songs "All I Do Is Think of You," "I Wanna Sex You Up" and "Freak Me" in a 90s thowback moment.

Closing the show was a taped performance of Beyoncé and Jay-Z of "Partition" from their Run This Town tour.
