While sisters Tina and Erica Campbell are giving reality TV watchers "Just a Little More Jesus" on the WeTv network, BET has decided to add another Gospel phenomenon to their network programming. On Monday August 11 the BET network announced that they will be adding three new reality shows to their programming with one of them being all about The Manns - David & Tamela Mann.
The power couple were first introduced to the world through Tyler Perry's hit "Madea" stage play franchise. David Mann ("Brown") became everyone's favorite snappy dresser character with a big personality while wife Tamela Mann, ("Cora") wowed the crowd with her big beautiful smile and even bigger beautiful voice.
The couple later left the stage for the small screen where they both starred in Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns, an American sitcom created and produced by playwright, director, and producer Tyler Perry. The Manns are all about the comedy which is what they vow to bring to viewers of their reality show. KRNB, a Decatur, TX Urban AC radio station reported that what you won’t see on this reality show is any of the drama that is featured on other reality shows. David and Tamela promise a lot of laughs and a behind the scenes look at their 26 year marriage and family life.
In eight-30 minute episodes, which some the episodes have already been recorded according to KRNB, viewers will get a taste of their careful balancing act among being celebrities, entrepreneurs, and parents to four adult children. No official air date has been released but BET did confirm the launch of two other reality programs in addition to The Manns (unofficial title.)
Keyshia Cole will be returning to BET with another reality show, following her first, "The Way It Is," with a docu-series "that reveals her continued struggles with the real-life issues that face all of us including career complications, marital strife, motherhood challenges, and jealousy from siblings,"reports BET. It was only months ago that reports surfaced of Keyshia blocking her family's efforts at their on reality show.
Sister2Sister explained how Keyshia Cole had been accused of trying to keep her family off of reality TV…again by making it difficult for her relatives to launch their upcoming series, “Frankie’s Family Therapy.” Keyshia denied the allegations although reports also stated that she was the reason that the reality show starring her mother Frankie and sister Neffe did not return to BET for a second season of their short lived show, "Frankie & Neffe."
The new untitled Keyshia Cole series will consist of six 30-minute episodes and it has not been confirmed as to whether or not any of her family members will be a part of the show.
Also set to have his own reality show is rapper, Nelly. His untitled project is also a docu-series where cameras will follow the "Real Husbands of Hollywood" star "as he navigates his busy career as a hip-hop icon, successful entrepreneur, loving father to his biological children and his deceased sister’s children - all while nurturing a blossoming friendship with “Miss Jackson,” the ex-girlfriend of a world famous boxer, Floyd Mayweather. Jr.," according to BET
No air dates have been confirmed for either of the shows as of yet but for more information visit www.betpressroom.com.
