Number one New York Times bestselling author Brad Meltzer comes to town this week. Meltzer, also the host of the History Channel’s Decoded, has scheduled stops in the Washington DC area on his tour to promote The Fifth Assassin, his latest area work of fiction. Here’s more about the novel from the publisher, Grand Central:
From John Wilkes Booth to Lee Harvey Oswald, there have been more than two dozen assassination attempts on the President of the United States. Four have been successful. But now, Beecher White—the hero of the #1 New York Times bestseller The Inner Circle—discovers a killer in Washington, D.C., who’s meticulously re-creating the crimes of these four men. Historians have branded them as four lone wolves. But what if they were wrong?
Beecher is about to discover the truth: that during the course of a hundred years, all four assassins were secretly working together."
With The Fifth Assassin, Meltzer solidifies his expertise on U.S. presidential history, bringing the same in-depth investigation to his writing as he does to Decoded. Meltzer even scored help from the mother of all research ultimate sources for The Fifth Assassin—the forty-first president, George H.W. Bush. As the start of 2013 favors all things presidential—from the hit Steven Spielberg film Lincoln, to the inauguration of Barack Obama—Meltzer’s visit to the capital of the Free World is well-timed.
After a stop at DC institution Politics and Prose, Meltzer next appears here:
