The 7th edition of The Smyrna Wine Stroll will take place on Saturday May 19 from 2 to 5 p.m., again this year at The Market Village Shopping Center across from Smyrna City Hall. This event is becoming a staple among wine tasting celebrations in Atlanta. This year 100% of the proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation(SPSF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports Smyrna's police officer and firefighter heroes.
The Wine Stroll was born seven years ago when Reneé Rowe, owner of The Wine Cellars (TWC) in Smyrna decided to create an outside wine tasting event and at the same time give back to the community, each year the net proceeds from the ticket sales go to a different non-profit organization. During the previous six years TWC is been able to donate over $20K to various charitable organizations. You can buy your ticket in advance for $35 (regular price $45).
The Smyrna Wine Stroll is a fun event designed to allow patrons to stroll through the Market Village shopping center while sampling a great selection of over 60 wines and food bites from local restaurants (Atkins Park Tavern, Zucca and Moe's). Also enjoy live music and samples from Cabot Cheese.
This amazing event will not be possible without the hard work of dozens of volunteers and the chair person Andria Murphy. For this year Andria informed that they already reached the number of volunteers need it to cover the event. Reneé Rowe, owner of The Wine Cellars and founder of the event shared with us: "There's always something for everyone to enjoy, many different wines from around the world and most of them are a available to purchase at The Wine Cellars during the event. We will featured everything form white and red to rosé; dry to off-dry and sweet. Savida Sangria a refreshing sangria from California (white and red) will be available to taste, great to try iced down in the weather."
