There are ways to protect your car against break-ins. St. Louis is experiencing a rash of car break-ins throughout the city and county area.

Investing your time and a little cash can save money and aggravation. Having your purse stolen involves cancelling debit and credit cards, perhaps applying for a new driver’s license, and risking identity theft. Losing your Ipad, computer or cell phone puts your personal information and those of your friends at risk. You can protect yourself against car break-ins by following a few simple practices.

  • Don’t leave your purse in your car.
  • Don’t leave your iPad and other electronic devices in plain sight.
  • Store your shopping bags in your truck. If you don’t have a trunk, cover your bags and devices with a blanket.
  • Invest in a vehicle alarm. For less than $500 you can get a dealer installed alarm, or purchase car alarms and anti-theft equipment and have these installed.
