Losing fat and improving body composition are as simple as 1,2,3. However, it is the obstacles that create the difficulty in having success overall. There are few components that need to be altered on your fat loss journey. Remember that your results are based on your discipline and consistency.

Eating habits
This is your main component. Be sure to eat the right foods. Include healthy foods high in vitamins and minerals and also foods high in protein. However, you need to put yourself in a calorie deficit so your body uses the excess fat to burn for energy. What your calorie deficit would be is based on the current state of your body such as weight, height and age. Some recommend that you eat more frequently to give your metabolism a boost. However, there is contradictory research that three healthy meals are just as effective. This is hypothesized as the most difficult step in the fat loss process.

Stay hydrated
Water is going to be your best friend on your journey. Staying hydrated will help flush the toxins out of your body and keep your body functioning properly. Additionally, there no calories in water so can drink as much of it as you like!

Train to burn fat
Exercise is of course an important factor to burning fat. However, how you train is also a factor. Though your first thought may be hitting the treadmill and elliptical, it is important to work all your muscles groups with weight training. Women, that means you too. You won't have to worry about getting bulky either... it just won't happen. A great way to train would be High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). Basically its a workout with bursts. For example if you're on the treadmill, instead of jogging for one hour, you would jog for five minutes at a moderate pace then burst into a fast pace run. Additionally, changing your routine will help your body not become accustomed to your workouts. You can chose to do completely different exercises or switch up the order in which you do them. Either will work.

Sleep well
Getting a good amount of rest will help your body recover from the stress you'll be applying to it. Plus everything else like your memory, moods and more will benefit from it. Your body will thank you.

There is no secret to losing fat. Eat less, exercise and rest. Your diet is what will make or break the deal. It is important that all these factors are on point, otherwise it may slow your progress. Remember to speak with your doctor before starting a training or supplement program.
