One of the best Valentine’s Day gifts for those funny valentines across the nation may be a reserved seat for a theatrical musical comedy where an ensemble cast of four multi-talented women vividly bring to life creator Jeanie Linders’ "Menopause the Musical" now showing at select locations nationwide.
The off Broadway musical illustrates a field trip of sorts where four women—a professional, a soap star, an earth mother, and an Iowa housewife—meet for the first time while shopping at Bloomy’s (Bloomingdale’s) and discover they each have a wittiness and song to share about menopause.
From the opening song that speaks of the change of life parodied after Chain of Fools to the last song and dance to YMCA, the ninety-minute show without ‘pause’ pokes fun at quite a few menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes and insomnia as well as night sweats and mood swings.
Should the performance become ‘too hot’ for some audience members, Hot Flash Fans may be purchased at $1.00 each with proceeds benefitting ovarian cancer research.
"Menopause the Musical" is currently showing in San Jose, Calif. at Montgomery Theater approximately 80 miles west of Stockton, Calif. Future performances in the San Joaquin Valley include Stockton’s neighbor Lodi and nearby Modesto plus even more across the nation.
"Menopause the Musical" is rated 4.7 stars out of 5 stars on Ticketmaster.com, a global event ticketing agent.
