If you've been waiting to see the Aspens this fall, don't wait any longer, the trees are at their peak of perfection and now is the time.
Don't have time to travel too far? The I-70 corridor offers quite a few options.
- Idaho Springs - go to Beau Jo's Pizza as long as you are there.
- Fall River Road
- Estes Park
- Georgetown
- Breckenridge
But if you have the day to spend or even better a whole weekend, head up through Glenwood Canyon to Snowmass/Aspen and drive up Maroon Bells Road to the 14'ers of Maroon Bells.
The trees are truly spectacular and with the warm temperatures you can't find a better time to see this spectacular vista. It's known as the most photographed spot in all of Colorado, and once you visit you'll know why.
Enjoy the slideshow photographs of Maroon Bells Peaks and lake taken in late September.
Anytime you head to the mountains be sure to take water, wear layers and lather up with sunscreen.
