A money saver straight from Europe where they are actually interested in cheap clean air and water is just the ticket to cure some of the costs that the sewer fiasco has incurred for all Birmingham and Jefferson County residents to loathe.
The Institut de Robòtica i TIC (Robotics Institute and ICT) of the Universitat de València has developed an intelligent wireless network that will reduce 74% the energy consumption in the purification facilities by 74%.
Biosensors detect bacteria and other contaminants. The system calculates the optimum amount of biocide. This reduces power costs, transportation costs, and personnel costs. The system works for multiple locations.
Just the ticket for Jefferson County’s over staffed inefficient sewer system and the perpetual runoff problems that the county and the city of Birmingham have never addressed successfully.
The impending bankruptcy is dubious so this is an alternative to higher fees for users.
