Milan Fashion Week Fall 2014 is now apart of history. The row of shows ended yesterday to a week chock full of surprises.
Unexpected turns for the the week included a conglomerate of corporate shout-outs which made headlines.
Moschino turned McDonald's golden arches into its own jocular display of style, using other pop culture references in the same vain-- count'em; Spongebob Square Pants, Hershey's, Budweiser and Gummy Bears to name a few.
Even with that, there were also a few happy endings. Top collections for Milan include Emilio Pucci whose infectious use of color, beautiful draping and a mixture of print and fabrics were promising on a modern silhouette.
Roberto Cavalli who was all about brazen luxury sans the snooty vibe, the air was all about effortless in excess. And Bluemarine who also dabbled in the notion of luxury adding on a fuse of fantasy played out through silk floral embellishments, jewel toned leather ensembles and fur accents.
Other honorable mentions include; Gucci, Max Mara, Tod's and Sportmax.
Milan Fashion Week did its just bidding for the Fall. There was an even keel display of glam, gaudy, insipid and show stopping. The designers customized these themes giving us much to look forward this Fall season.
