This Santa Monica-based company is a favorite at Sunday farmers’ markets in the area, including Brentwood and Pacific Palisades.

There is a soup for every vegetarian palate, with a menu of over 30 varieties representing many global cuisines. All of the soup choices are vegetarian and many are also vegan and gluten-free.

Choose from selections like Mediterranean chickpea, Portuguese spinach and white bean, and French onion. Spicier options include mulligatawny, Sri Lankan lentil with quinoa, and Thai coconut curry. Look for seasonal selections, too.

Served frozen in sixteen ounce "ready-to-go" containers, the soups can be heated for a quick lunch or dinner.

Zabie’s
One can find this delightful café in the Sunset Park neighborhood. The restaurant's menu includes vegetarian and dairy-free soup selections freshly made each day.

Select a bowl or cup, and pick from soup options such as fresh corn chowder, black bean, tomato-basil, and potato leek. For non-vegetarians, try Zabie’s chicken cilantro soup. Or, mix a few together to spice things up.

Main Street is the Santa Monica home of the popular Urth Caffé. One of multiple area locations, the restaurant is known for serving organic coffee and many other items that are organic, vegan or locally-sourced.

Several daily soups are offered, such as tortilla, parsnip and ginger, vegetarian chili, and fennel minestrone. The menu highlights the bowls of soup that are vegetarian, garlic and onion-free, or contain cream and/or meat.
