Best portable disc golf basket

One of the best investments you can make to help improve your game is a disc golf basket to practice putting and approach shots at home or in a nearby park.   If you can’t leave a disc golf basket in your yard, or you want one that you can move around easily, a portable is right for you.

Another big advantage of the portable disc golf basket is if you live in Minnesota or any other state where you get snow; it is much easier and more fun to practice inside in the winter. We play disc golf all winter in Minnesota, but it’s not so much fun to practice in the snow and cold.

There are many other choices that you can get if portability is not an issue for you.  That review is in the next article.  Right now we will focus on the portable disc golf baskets that are available.

There are 3 choices to pick from in a portable, 2 from Innova and 1 from DGA.
The Innova Traveler, the Innova skillshot, and the DGA Mach lite.

You can read users reviews here. Most of the reviewers that I have read and from my experience, the Traveler is very light and easy to fold and move around, but I’m not really sold on the mesh system. The Skillshot is a good basket and most player who have one like it, but the consensus on the best of the 3 overall is the Mach Lite, it plays more like a steel disc golf basket and is still easy to fold up and move.  Check out Disc Golf News for all the news in disc golf daily

I found out about, and started playing disc golf in 1978 when the sport was in its infancy. There was only 1 good course in Minnesota at that time, Acorn Park. I played for several years, and then took a while off. The sport is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, and I have gotten...
