Anytime is a good time for a tasty slice. As it turns out, the Bay Area is full of delicious pies to choose from. According to a new list from The Daily Meal, eight of the best pizza joints in the country are in the Bay Area.
Of the "101 Best Pizzas in America," six San Francisco eateries make the list, Berkeley and Oakland also make one appearance each on the list. The highest ranking Bay Area pie is the Margherita at Una Pizza Napoletana which came in at number four, the Margherita at Flour + Water is eighth and the Salsiccia Pizza at Pizzeria Delfina comes in at 33rd. A16, Tomasso's and the Del Popolo food truck also cracked the list. The Cheese Board in Berkeley ranks 19th, with Oakland's contribution to the list, the Margherita at Pizzaiolo, falling in at 50th.
White Clam pizza made by Frank Pepe's of New Haven, Connecticut took the top spot on the this year's list.
The list was compiled by chefs, restaurant critics, bloggers, writers and general pizza enthusiasts.
