Article by Joe Sioufi - This eco-friendly, 12-acre park in the heart of downtown Houston is not one of the oldest parks that you can find, but it's only about two years old. It has enough features to keep you, your family and your friends entertained all day long.
Discovery Green Park in downtown Houston, opened on April 13, 2008. With its proximity to the George R. Brown Convention Center, Minute Maid Park and Toyota Center, Discovery Green is an ideal location for the city's newest attraction. With it's Kinder Lake's water gardens and area to race and direct remote-controlled mini watercraft. You can catch a concert on Grace Lawn, or you can bring your blanket to sit on it all over the park's biggest green expanse, the Jones Lawn.
Do not forget that you can take a walk through the sculpture or the rose gardens and in case you get hungry you got two restaurants to make choice from: the casual Boat House, or The Grove featuring a rooftop bar and a treehouse on the second floor.
