Blazing through Fashion Week, for the top Euro fashion cities we have two down, one more to go. As Paris Fashion Week is underway we have tentatively bid arrivederci to Milan Fashion Week not without first relishing in all of the visually pleasing stunners for the Spring 2014 season.
Among them; Albertta Ferretti whose collection was a cross between Spanish beauty by the countryside and ballroom ballerino.Versace who was all about sexiness in a tandem of colors. The crown, however, belongs to Dolce & Gabbana who is never one to fail even after coming off the cusp of their unforgettably epic Fall 2013 season. The collection was flawless from start to finish.
Trends that raged on included; athletic inspired looks (Prada, Gucci, Emilio Pucci) see-through (Fendi, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Missoni) and Minimalism (Max Mara, Emporio Armani, Jil Sander)
A few twist and turns along the way; were Gucci and Prada's departure from demure and upscale to more street style, male influences, and Moschino, who went the way of Alexander McQueen with its out of the box collection that brought something relatable, yet a direct diversion from ready-to-wear in a more imaginative orchestrated way.
Above all else, Milan Fashion Week went off without a glitch. There were more surprises this time around then to be expected, as such it didn't overcast a shadow on Fashion Week thanks to strong collections by the likes of Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, et al. Here are the top looks from Milan Fashion Week S/S 2014...
