Strong families are built on strong relationships. Valentine's Day may be considered by many to be a Hallmark holiday, but it's also a good reminder for couples to get out and do things together. It's a time to be romantic and remember all the things that you deeply love about your special someone. Houston hot spots are providing some incredibly romantic hot spots to help you heat things up.

Latin Bites

This year, Latin Bites Chef Roberto Castro's will be offering a three-course Valentine’s Day menu, which is priced at $75 per person. Options from the first course include Pork Arepa, an Asian-style pork belly dish with South American corn dough, or Purple Causita, a cold purple mashed potato patty accompanied by crab salad. The second course features choices such as Two Ways Duck Cannelloni – duck confit cannelloni and duck breast on wine demi glaze with mole sauce and sautéed baby veggies – and the Green Risotto, which incorporates asparagus and spinach risotto with miso glaze Chilean sea bass and sautéed baby bok choy. For dessert, choose between Mil Hojas, a Venezuelan chocolate mousse with passion fruit cream and hazelnut gelato, or Torta Helada, a Peruivian style cold red velvet cake with strawberry gelatin, rhubarb rocoto coulis and blood orange sorbet. Diners will also enjoy a complimentary glass of Col de’Salici Docg Valdobbiadene Prosecco.

LINE & LARIAT Executive Chef Tyler Malson is spicing up Valentine’s Day with a three-course menu priced at $65 per person. Options from the Hot & Spicy first course include Grilled Bacon Wrapped Quail “Wings Style” with cucumber, celery and blue cheese salad; Pan Seared Blackened Scallops with chili oil, Texmati rice and sautéed mushrooms; and Mustard Spiced Crab Cake with scallion remoulade and local field pea salad. The It’s on Fire second course features choices such as Sage Braised Rabbit with roasted hen of the wood mushroom, Serrano peppers and carrot puree; Blackened Yellowfin Tuna Niçoise with wax beans, egg, oil cured olives, fennel salad and brioche croutons; plus Chile Marinated Grilled Pork Tenderloin with red rice, crispy Brussels sprouts and black bean demi. For dessert, Cool Down or Heat Up with Texas Gingerbread Pig, Roasted Cranberry Pear Tart or Pumpkin Panna Cotta.

Treat your special someone to a five-course Valentine’s Day dinner at The Bistro. Priced at $79 per person, the menu highlights offerings such as the Oyster “Play” gratinée featuring melted leeks and bacon in a half shell with finger lime cells, fresh grated horseradish and champagne sorbet; Grape Must Lacquered Quail incorporating chorizo and date hash with a pickled grape salad; Pan Seared Duck Breast with orange-hibiscus bigarade, sunchoke mousseline and an apple and pea salad; plus Fried Gala Apple Pie with salted caramel ice cream and pecan brittle.

ARA Restaurant – Royal Sonesta Hotel

Give your Valentine the royal treatment at ARA Restaurant, located inside the chic and newly renovated Royal Sonesta Hotel in Uptown. On February 14, ARA will be offering a special, four-course menu priced at just $88 per couple. You’ll enjoy a soup and salad, a 44 Farms themed entrée – celebrating the hotel’s partnership with the celebrated Angus ranch in Cameron, TX – plus dessert and a glass of sparkling wine. Continue your evening in one of Royal Sonesta’s chic and newly renovated accommodations starting at $139.

Eleven XI Restaurant & Bar

Join Eleven XI and celebrate the feast of St. Valentine with a feast of your own. Eleven XI is offering either a three or four-course, prix-fixe menu. The three-course menu for two is priced at $190 per couple with optional, tiered beverage pairings – including wine, beer or cocktails - for $50 or $100. A soup or salad starter segues to a decadent trio of two, prime 6 oz. filet mignons and a 16 oz. broiled lobster tail to share. The third course completes the meal with an assortment of Chef Kevin Bryant’s house made confections. The four course addition raises the tariff to $225 per couple and includes options such as Gulf Shrimp Cocktail, Jumbo Lump Crab Cake or Buffalo Carpaccio.

Sparrow Bar + Cookshop

Sparrow’s Monica Pope is creating a four-course, prix fixe menu, priced at $150 per couple with wine pairings available for $30 per person. The menu includes offerings such as Basque Seafood Stew with zucchini, red bells and saffron-sherry aioli; Tempura of Tuna Sashimi with orange chili sauce, wasabi and roe; Shiitake Mushroom Dumplings with a bleu cheese-honey cream sauce; Antelope Cutlet with red onion-red eye cream gravy; Country Style Vegetable Curry with tofu and rice paper; and White Chocolate Challah Bread Pudding with passion fruit custard sauce.

Triniti Restaurant Executive Chef Ryan Hildebrand will be offering a six-course, sharing menu on Valentine’s Day, priced at $100 per person with optional wine pairing for $50 per person.

Hubbell & Hudson Bistro

Visit The Woodlands’ acclaimed Hubbell & Hudson Bistro and indulge in a four-course, prix fixe menu from dynamic, Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef, Austin Simmons. Priced at $84 per person, the menu highlights selections such as Red Wine Braised Octopus with crispy pork, roasted garlic, avocado puree and rendered chorizo; Braised Short Rib Ravioli with baby vegetables and parmesan truffle sauce; Shaved Fennel & Artichoke Salad with truffle vinaigrette, aged parmesan and toasted almond slivers; Akaushi Strip with parsnip puree, tempura cauliflower, pickled Asian pear and tamari demi; and Deconstructed S ‘mores.

Hotel Packages

If you are fortunate enough to be able to stay out all night these hotel packages offer some of the most luxurious and romantic stays in Houston.

The historical Hotel ICON offers romance throughout the month of February with two special packages offered each weekend. Share the fun with the “Double Date Valentine’s Dinner”, which is priced at $2,014 and includes two deluxe overnight rooms, a four-course dinner with wine pairing for four in the Wine Vault, champagne with strawberries in room, breakfast for four at LINE & LARIAT, valet parking and late checkout.

“Love Blooms” with the aptly named overnight package for two, featuring a flower-filled suite, a four-course dinner for two in LINE & LARIAT, champagne with strawberries in room, bath butler service, breakfast in bed and valet parking. Rates start at $1,214 per couple. The package offers a room upgrade option to the hotel’s three-story penthouse suite, which brings the rate to $2,014 per night.

Start the evening off at The Bistro and make your celebration last all night with Hotel Sorella’s “Ti Amo – I Love You” Romance Package, starting at $295 on February 14. The package includes luxurious overnight accommodations, breakfast for two in your room or at The Bistro, champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and complimentary valet or self – parking.

The Wyndham Houston West Energy Corridor is offering two Valentine's Day packages on February 14. The first package, Romance Discovered, includes an evening in a newly renovated guest room, a three – course dinner for two at the newly designed Park Restaurant & Grille, two passes to the Valentine’s Day Party at the Ten Bar & Lounge featuring the Gary – Michael Dahl Band and two complimentary cocktails. End the evening with a rose petal turndown service, bottle of champagne, two chocolate covered strawberries and two truffles. Wake up to breakfast in bed for two the following day and enjoy late checkout. Complimentary parking is also included in the package priced at $279. The second package, Fantasies Fulfilled, includes all of the amenities from the Romance Discovered package but guests will enjoy it from the Wyndham’s Presidential Suite overlooking the Houston skyline. The Fantasies Fulfilled package is priced at $1,500.
