A major exhibit showcasing the winners of the "Erotic Signatures," the show that represents the best in contemporary erotic art, debuts this month at the World Erotic Art Museum in South Beach, prior to the works going on a world tour.

The 60-work show will be unveiled Saturday, Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. at a reception, which is free with the $15 museum admission price .

"Erotic Signatures has become the stage upon which erotic artists from throughout the world can now perform. Before, erotic artists had to keep their work hidden away, but now that the public has recognized our museum, and others in Europe, artists are more free to display their work and benefit the world," said Naomi  Wilzig, the museum's owner.

The World Erotic Art Museum houses the Naomi Wilzig Collection, which is recognized as among the finest collections of erotic art in the world. The collection is comprised of more than 4,000 works, which range from prehistoric to contemporary, and are housed in the 20-room museum.

"Erotic Signatures" is a juried show covering fine art, photography, digital art, sculpture and mixed media. Many of the artists featured have been showcased at Wilzig's museum, including Jeffrey Wack, whose work, "Oceana," a giclee print on canvas captured the grand prize. Other winning works on exhibit include photography, digital art, sculpture, and mass media.

The show's winning works were selected by a jury comprised of  erotic art museum curators, writers, artists, photographers, sculptors and digital artists known worldwide for their expertise in fine erotic art.

"Erotic Signatures" remains on display through Feb. 27. Beginning Feb. 1, it will be shown in tandem with the museum's annual homage to legendary world-famed entertainer Josephine Baker during Black History Month.
