Best of 2012: Video interview with Bill Withers at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards

Soul legend Bill Withers's music has been in the forefront these days. Withers is best known for his classics songs “Ain’t No Sunshine,” “Lean On Me,” “Lovely Day,” “Grandma’s Hands,” and “Just the Two of Us.”

Anthony Hamilton paid homage to Bill Withers performing “Lovely Day” as part of a medley paying tribute to soul artists from the past during this year's Soul Train Awards.

His song “Ain’t No Sunshine” is prominently featured in the film Flight starring Denzel Washington.

Nicholas David performed Withers’ “Lean On Me” on "The Voice which his coach CeeLo Green had Withers on the show visiting during his mentoring session with David the next week.

Sony/ Legacy recently released a box set of Withers titled "The Complete Sussex And Columbia Albums".

Carly Simon was awarded with the Founders Award from ASCAP President Paul Williams at the 29th Annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards in Hollywood. The award was given out by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Bill Withers was there to help present the award to her. Simon noted that she is a huge fan of Withers and how he is the one songwriter that she has listened to the and has been influenced by the most.
