Best music Blogs: Julie M. Tate of Gossip & The Devil

I am always striving to reach that benchmark of success- that limit where I can look back at all the adventures I have had in the Rock J Game and say it was all leading up to this moment.  That Almost Famous idealization, that this- was all for something.

The next inductee to the Best Music Blogs has been nothing short of a role model for me in how to keep going forward in the pursuit of sharing her love for music and the lifestyle that surrounds it in printed word, visual art, and her clothing line.  I thank you for all the times you've pushed me to better myself in this profession, taking cues from what you and other mentors have achieved. I am always trying to learn more; be better, make your proud of what I have done like a little kid skipping home with a report card covered in Great Work! stickers. I am  that much better because of your guidance. That being said, this week welcomes Julie M. Tate to our elite circle.

With promotion of her The Rough Chronicles of Bipolar Romance keeping her busy with local readings, Tate also contributes weekly stories to Troubadour 21, featured in the DIY Artbook by Natascha Peiser, and featured in various other publications too numerous to list mentioned on her site. Tate is also planning for the winter release of her clothing, oils, and jewelry line for Modern Orphan Designs.

What exactly makes this modern orphan leader an inductee for the Best Music Blog?

Diving into only some of the works on her Gossip & The Devil site reveals a series of intimate interviews with best in the indie scene of music, art, concert photography, and other art mediums.  Since graduation from Oklahoma State University with a B.A. in English with an emphasis on creative writing, Tate has spent a good portion of her twenties on the road living and writing about the music that changed her life.

Current features on the site include interviews with Natascha Artworx, live music photographer R.E Barbash, rock photographer Lisa Johnson, Kill Hannah, The Smashing Pumpkins concert stories, producer/musician John Bourke, Gil Baram, and Jessica Allyn, among others.  Stay tuned for upcoming interviews with Kill Hannah touring guitarist Maddox, and Wil Francis of Aiden.

Thank you Julie M. Tate for never giving up your dreams and inspiring us by sharing the stories of those that didn't back down either.

If you are headed near Tulsa this week, check out the latest reading appearance for The Rough Chronicles of Bipolar Romance at the Gypsy Coffee House 303 N Cincinnati Ave, Tulsa, OK 74103

Still awaiting a Chicago reading date, ahem! All in due time, I'm sure.
