On Dec. 26th, The Hollywood Reporter released its list for the best movie trailers (2013). High on this year's list are plenty of SciFi offerings, including the one that introduced Benedict Cumberbatch as the villain of "Star Trek: Into Darkness," "The X-Men: Days of Future Past," and "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," based on book two of Suzanne Collins' trilogy. Not surprisingly, many of these movies set box office records this year and count among the top rentals on DVD.
Best Movie Trailers 2013: Superheroes Abound Iron Man 3, Man of Steel, Captain America
The superhero movie trailers got big nods from The Hollywood Reporter. These three movies represent box office power as much as they do superhero power. "Man of Steel" and "Iron Man 3" also made the top list for movies of the year in a CNN readers' poll, taking the number seven and number four spots respectively.
Best Movie Trailer: "Hunger Games" Book 2 Comes to Life
For fans of Suzanne's Collins' "Hunger Games" trilogy, the addition of the "Catching Fire" Trailer is no doubt no surprise. The second movie of the series broke Nov. box office records with a $161.1 million debut, according to Inside Movies.
