Sweet respite from the hustle and bustle awaits in a lovely little cottage called House and Garden Boutique. Set far back from the road, this home décor shop in Woodstock is easily missed, but what a loss it would be for anyone who does miss it.
Beginning with the bright red door, which welcomes you on arrival (and color coordinates so well with the nandina planted in front!) everything about this little shop-within-a-house is inviting. So, respond with a resounding “yes” to this invitation and you’ll be glad you did.
Upon entering the store, the ambience is set by elegant instrumental music playing softly in the background. Then, engaging pieces greet you. Sconces overflow with handcrafted floral arrangements; pretty, sculpted metal delights your eyes; and a gold lame purse—beautifully framed as art—is a truly unique piece that will stop you in your tracks.
Rare finds abound in each room of House and Garden Boutique, including gorgeous crystal chandeliers, a wonderfully crafted wood armoire with mirror insets and—adding an even more unexpected touch—a floral-embossed leather wall hanging.
And there’s more: heavy crystal wine stoppers etched with initials, mirrors with an antique finish, multifaceted glass drops that magnetically adhere to lamps or chandeliers, pristine white china, splendid transferware plates in soft brown and white patterns, and tall candlesticks that would beautifully adorn any mantle. These only begin the list of lovely items awaiting your perusal.
Located at 103 Bowles Drive, just north of Highway 92 (but facing Main Street), House and Garden Boutique is worth driving across the railroad tracks to reach it. And owner Lynn Paterson’s gracious hospitality will make you a repeat customer.

What a pretty house! I'm looking forward to visiting this shop.
The displays are wonderful and unique. I especially like the old fashioned mirrored armoire and the leather tapestry.
The store is beautiful. Too bad I live in NY. I would love to shop there on a regular basis.
