Matt Cole, Fat Head's brewer (c) 2009 K Bujak
Matt Cole does it again!! Fat Head's brewer wins another IPA competition with his Head Hunter IPA! The National IPA Championships, held each year by the Brewing News, pits 128 India Pale Ales (IPAs) from across the US against each other in a tournament similar to basketball's March Madness.
Competing against IPAs from the likes of Stone Brewing, Bear Republic, Founders, Rogue, Ithaca, Green Flash, Goose Island, Sierra Nevada, and many others, Matt once again wins top honors. This same beer won the gold medal at Bistro's IPA Festival in California last August. I heard it's on tap right now at the brewpub, but you must hurry. It'll be gone quickly, I'm sure!
