Best Dressed: 70th annual Golden Globes red-carpet roundup

The 70th annual Golden Globe Awards was all about women power bringing Hollywood’s leading ladies and most talented stars together for one magical night of accolades, amazing fashion and gorgeous jewelry.

This year at the Golden Globe Awards 2013, Hollywood’s stunning starlets took fashion risks in embellishments, classic-yet modern looks and plunging numbers, making for a red-hot red-carpet. Here a few picks for “Best Dressed”:

  • Kerry Washington- the “Scandal” starlet and "Django Unchained" star looked stunning in a sheer nude Miu Miu dress with a dazzling feather-like sequined detail and peek-a-boo sheer tulle overlay. Her sleek hair and subtly smoky eyes were very ladylike and demure which perfectly capped off the look. She in finished off her “pretty in peach” panache with nude pumps and a chic clutch by Prada and a gorgeous Platinum and rose-cut diamond invisible link bracelet by Fred Leighton
  • Jennifer Lawrence- the “Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical” winner for her role in "Silver Linings Playbook" also won top honors for best dressed. The 22-year-old "Hunger Games" starlet looked red-hot in a Dior Couture gown which glowed against her bronzed skin and dark locks. The fitted-bodice gown was accented with a metallic belt showed off her tiny waist while the voluminous skirt gave her a bold, ballroom beauty look. She topped off her appearance with a Platinum and rose-cut white diamond cocktail ring (11 carats) by Chopard which was simple yet sophisticated
  • Claire Danes- the “Homeland” actress looked ravishing in a red Versace draped gown which showed off her post-baby body and enhanced her luscious blonde blowout and sunkissed skin. The new glam-mama accessorized her gown with Platinum and diamond earrings and a Platinum and diamond ring by Lorraine Schwartz
  • Julianne Hough- the dancer turned actress looked edgy yet alluring in an ethereal white Monique Lhuillier gown with embellished gold accents. She played up this fierce look with a pompadour 'do, smoky eyes and chic accessories including a matching “golden-tipped” mani
  • Nicole Richie- channeled old Hollywood glamour in a breathtakingly beautiful blue lace gown by Naeem Khan. She added a touch of modern to her look with stunning matching blue eyeshadow. Her overall look was a mix of classic with the fashion-forward; she looked brilliant in blue and simply stunning
  • Zooey Deschanel- the “New Girl” beauty was looked enchanting in a red strapless Oscar de la Renta gown paired with a pearl necklace and bracelet by Kwiat, satin platform pumps by Casadei and a Christian Louboutin clutch. She even expressed her film-love with a film-inspired nail art
  • Katharine McPhee- the “Smash” star looked va-va-voom sexy in a daring yet sophisticated gown by Theyskens' Theory. The black satin gown featured a plunging neckline, wide belt and thigh-high slit which showed off her tiny waist and gorgeous gams. She accessorized with an Oroton clutch and fabulous Neil Lane jewelry, including Platinum earrings with diamonds and onyx, Platinum ring with black and white diamonds and a Platinum link bracelet with black diamonds
  • Amy Poehler- the Golden Globes co-host and "Parks and Recreation" funny femme looked beautifully bold in a black pants suit by Stella McCartney with a deep front neckline which gave it a touch of flirty feminine flair. She accented her look with black Charlotte Olympia strappy heels and Chopard jewels, including a Platinum and diamond lariat necklace featuring round and asscher-cut white diamonds (83 carats) and Platinum and white diamond stud earrings (10 carats). Her show-hosting skills were winning as was her red-carpet look
