Best Clubs in Wilmington

Wilmington is definitely becoming a city with a lot to offer. There are the wonderful parks, the beautiful riverfront and the fantastic restaurants and of course there are the great sporting venues. This means that there are plenty of things to do for the whole family, however, there is another side to Wilmington that not everybody knows about; and that is that you can have a great night out at one of the city’s many fabulous clubs.

Let’s start things on an easy note and pop into the Blue Parrot Bar and Grille on the corner of 6th and Union. Here you will find a fantastic part of New Orleans right in the middle of Wilmington. Cajun cooking and fabulous cocktails are the order of the day and live music helps give the place a party vibe on an almost nightly basis. Whether your tastes are with indie music, Classic Rock ‘n Roll or any other then you will surely find something to swing your hips to, the Gas House Gorillas are a regular performer that is well worth seeing. So grab a table and order a mojito and get ready to enjoy one of the best nights in town.

If you want to catch the game whilst you chug from a nice cold beer then C R Hooligans on Delaware Avenue is hard to beat. Especially seeing as their 92 inch screens make you feel that you are at the stadium. This sporty bar is the perfect stop off for all of those athletic fans out there, so be sure to grab a stool before kickoff.

It must be time for Jazz and at the Nomad Bar on N. Orange Street you will get all of the jamming you need. Live sets take place 3 nights a week and Saturdays feature a magnificent jam session. The selections of beers that are available are second to none and this bar is really starting to make some waves in the Wilmington area.

It must now be time to move onto a proper club, somewhere that opens late and caters for a more adult crowd. That has to be Bhrand on w. 9th street, which opens Saturdays only from 9pm onwards. This place boasts itself as being Delaware’s no. 1 upscale night club and often puts on a show to try and prove it. There are comedy nights and celebrity nights, as well as live music and great DJs. With 2 bars and massive dance floors this could be the place to be, as long as you are over 21 years old. There are also great specials and comfy seating to take the weight off. All in all a smashing place to spend a weekend night and dance until you drop.

So whether you want to eat while you enjoy live music or watch the game whilst sipping your beer there are all sorts of venues in Wilmington to keep you off the street. Then when the game is over and you are suitably full up on food you can nip over to the club and dance the night away. That sounds like a great night out in Wilmington, so just make sure you have a few days off, book your flight and hotel (the term in Danish is fly og hotel) and you are good to go and explore the crazy Wilmington night life.
