"Batman: Year One" has not been the best reviewed direct-to-video release based on the DC Universe (and not much of a movie, clocking in at barely an hour), but is it so bad you need to give it away for free? I don't know, but Best Buy is running a sale that when you buy "Batman: Arkham City" for either Playstation 3 or XBox 360, they will give you the BluRay of "Batman: Year One" for free! Now, this is JUST the BluRay version! If you want the combo pack you'll still have to shell out the $24.95 for that. Now, I know how this must sound, and trust me: "Batman: Year One" is NOT a bad movie! Maybe it's lite on action and Batman doesn't play the major role in the film he probably should, but it's still miles ahead of most direct-to-video movies.
However, it was pretty clear to me that the movie was not moving units at Best Buy. I go there every week to check out new releases, and there were TONS of these disks that were unsold! Personally, I blame the lack of decent pricing on this, but now that it's a give away item I guess everythings okay now. Besides, whether you like the movie or not, its coming with "Batman: Arkham City," which is one of the best games of the year. So you get one of the best games of the year plus a decent movie for free to boot.
