Monolith Soft's first Wii U Game, with the temporary title of 'X' was shown to Nintendo fans all around the world via a Nintendo Direct Presentation in January. When Nintendo announced the game's development, they showed a small amount of gameplay which really showed how powerful the Wii U really is. The game is a Role-Playing Game and as of March, it's unknown if the game will feature massive-multiplayer play.
Shortly after the game was shown, people noticed that the letter X at the end resembled the same letter X found in the Xenoblade series. The original Xenoblade title came out in 2012 for the Wii and players expect this new game to be a sequel. It's very possible that this game is a sequel, but it's also important to realize that this game could in fact be a remake or spin-off. In reality, the game is more likely to be a sequel or spin-off instead of a remake.
Best Buy and Walmart have both recently listed the upcoming Xenoblade title for the Wii U. Of course, don't think the game will simply be titled 'Xenoblade' as the game is still in early development. Retailers are probably expecting the new game to come sooner than later, and since Nintendo made it obvious that we're looking a new Xenoblade game, retailers most likely find it ok to list the upcoming title on their sites. At the same time, Nintendo could've secretly let retailers know that the game is coming before the end of the year. What exactly pushed Best Buy and Walmart to list the game on their sites? Nobody exactly knows for sure, but gamers should get ready for the game as it isn't too far away.
The original Xenoblade game for the Wii, Xenoblade Chonicles, received rave reviews after it was released. Even though the Wii featured inferior graphics, Monolith Soft pushed the system to it's full potential in a successful effort to look better than all of the other Wii games available. With the Wii U out, we know that with this upcoming game, Monolith Soft will push this system even further to give us a visual masterpiece.
