The Airports Council International has given out its newest Airport Service Quality awards, and it seems Indianapolis, Ind. received quite the honor. The award for best airport named Indianapolis International Airport as the top spot for North America in 2012. The location received the same honor in 2010. Indy Star shared the details on March 12.
The council chooses its award recipients based on being passenger-friendly and they utilize passenger satisfaction surveys filled out at the gate areas. Other best airports named include Cape Town in Africa, Seoul Incheon in Asia and Moscow Sheremetyevo in Europe. Caribbean: Cancun gets the honors for Latin America while Abu Dhabi takes top honors for the Middle East.
As for other high-ranking airports in North America, Ottawa and Tampa were other standout locations. The top manager for the Indianapolis International Airport credits the dedicated staff for bringing home the award for North America's best airport named in the report. Do you agree with their choice? Which airports in North America or across the globe do you think are able to stand above the rest?
