Was anyone really surprised by the reunion ruse with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart? We were suspicious of a Thanksgiving story that originated with Hollywood Life and was squashed here even before Gossip Cop weighed in. The same questionable source created a Christmas story that made headlines. Then the fabricated tale of New Year on the Isle of Wight surfaced and traveled like tumbleweed, despite the source -- Hollywood Life. Then there seemed to be a collective movement to keep the "Twilight Saga" lovers together. Now on Dec. 31, 2013, TheImproper reported: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart New Year's Hook Up Another Hoax. That link displays photos. Also the Isle of Wight News began to wonder and on Dec. 30, 2013 wrote: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart on the Isle of Wight again?
The Improper noted
TheImproper has no special insights into the couple either. But the available hard evidence suggests that no rendezvous was planned nor will one happen.
It was most surprising to see that as late as Dec. 24, 2013, UPI.com was reporting: Kristen Stewart planning New Year's date with Robert Pattinson. Even the oldest running magazine in the United States, the political and cultural icon, The Nation, reported: Robert, Kristen together at New Year eve on Dec. 22, 2013.
The tumbleweed syndrome
Certainly no one really believed in the no-name source, the so-called friend of Kristen Stewart who supposedly blabbed to Hollywood Life. Yet, publications picked up the story. And it happened because Pattinson and Stewart are two young stars who cannot hide their sexiness or their love of hide-and-seek with the press. And, no one really wants to see the "Twilight Saga" love story come to an end.
Thanksgiving fake news
The fake news began at Thanksgiving with the laughable story of Stewart preparing Thanksgiving dinner for Pattinson: Turkey and tears in the news, on Nov. 27, 2013.
Were fans disappointed? Not if they were following the clashing reports daily.
Is it over? Probably not
Pattinson has repeatedly voiced admiration for Stewart particularly in interviews with Australia Sunday Style. As such, they may simply end up as long time lovers, friends with benefits, or simply friends with a memorable history.
