Bess leads Penquis to victory over Houlton in PVC championship game

Junior Isaiah Bess scored 31 points to lead the Penquis Patriots to a 65-52 victory over the Houlton Shiretowners in the boys basketball PVC championship game played at Penobscot Valley high school in Howland on Thursday afternoon.

Houlton and Penquis start the class C tournament as the top two seeds.

Houlton will take on Bucksport in a quarterfinal game at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19th.

Penquis is the second seed and will face Stearns in a quarterfinal game on Wednesday, February 20th at 11 a.m. Click here for the full class C schedule.

Bess will go into the quarterfinal game with 998 career points.

Kyle Bouchard did not play on Thursday due to a wrist injury. He is expected to be ready for the Shiretowners quarterfinal game.
