The Maine Association of Basketball Coaches (MABC) and local Maine McDonald's owner/operators announced the finalists for Mr. Maine basketball this morning.

Hampden Academy teammates Zach Gilpin and Isaiah Bess joined Dustin Cole from Bonny Eagle as the three best boys senior basketball players in the state of Maine.

The winner of Mr. Basketball will be announced at the McDonald's all star banquet on Friday evening.

Gilpin and Bess both won a state championship during their junior season.

Bess helped the Penquis Patriots win the class C title.

Gilpin and the Broncos won the class A title.

The Broncos won the regional title this season, before falling to Portland in the state title game.

Bess will be playing college basketball at Stonehill College.

Gilpin plans on attending college and playing basketball at Stonehill, Bates, or Franklin Pierce.

Cole will be playing college basketball at Franklin Pierce University.

You will have one more chance to see these three great basketball play as high school players.

They will participate in the McDonald's class A/B all star game on Saturday.
