Funeral services for popular Denver amateur boxing advocate Margarito ‘Muggsy’ Berzoza have been confirmed for this Friday March 21st at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1843 W. 52nd Ave., Denver, 80221 at 11 am, with reception to follow at St Charles Recreation Center, 3777 Lafayette St, Denver, CO 80205, (303-295-4462).

The family is in need of help with medical bills and request any donations be sent to Chase Bank, via direct deposit account # 3079158761, Ginger M. Berzoza C/O Margarito Berzoza or any checks or money orders be made to Ginger M. Berzoza C/O Margarito Berzoza, 7011 Avrum Dr., Denver, CO 80221.

‘Muggs’ will be sorely missed, him working with Denver amateur boxers, male or female, his only demands being they remain in school, stay out of trouble and keep God in their heart.

The Salvation Army continues to offer an excellent fundraising opportunity for area boxing clubs with a ‘Shoe Drive’, where for every pound of shoes (in any condition) .65 cents is earned. For more information contact Captain Ron McKinney, Community Relations Manager The Salvation Army Denver ARC (Adult Rehabilitation Center), office: 303-293-3452, cell: 303-956-7385.

Cordova Productions, the top boxing promotional company in Pueblo, Colorado, and Sundown Entertainment LLC, Colorado Springs, Colorado’s top boxing promotional company, will work together on a professional boxing show, ‘Friday Night Fights’, this Friday night March 21, at the Pueblo Convention Center in Pueblo, Colorado.

Headlining the event will be Pueblo’s popular Chantel 'Gorgeous Babe' Cordova (12-4-1, 3KO's) who looks to take the next step in her aspirations to get back to a world title fight when facing California’s undefeated Maria Suarez (7-0). This main event matches two top twenty world ranked female flyweights.

As an amateur, Cordova had a stellar career, capturing two national championships, three Golden Gloves titles, and a member of a USA National boxing team.

As a professional, Cordova is on a three fight winning streak, including a win over former world champion Hollie Dunaway last November.

The undercard is loaded with talent, the most intriguing Denver’s undefeated highly touted prospect David Escamilla (2-0, 1KO) taking on another outstanding prospect in Chris Galvadon (3-0, 1KO) of Colorado Springs in featherweight action where ‘somebody’s ‘0’ will go’. This should be a real ‘barn burner’.

Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling: 866-722-8844.

Bout Schedule:

Chantel Cordova (Pueblo, Colo.) vs. Maria Suarez (Santa Maria, Calif.)
Marcus Dawkins (Colo. Springs, Colo.) vs. Javier Rodriguez (Grand Island, Neb.)
Chris Galvadon (Colo. Springs, Colo.) vs. David Escamilla (Denver, Colo.)
Issac Cardona (Colo. Springs, Colo.) vs. Robert Brewington (Appleton, Wis.)
Ronnie Reams (Colo. Springs, Colo.) vs. Kevin Benson (Omaha, Neb.)
