The new "Berzerk" Eminem song debuted during the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night, and Entertainment Weekly announced on Aug. 25 that the new single for that song will go on sale on iTunes on Tuesday.
"Berkerk" was the name of the song that was sampled on the commercial during the VMAs that included a look at Dre's Beats. Dr. Dre is one of the producers for the next Eminem album, "The Marshall Mathers LP 2."
Eminem announced last year that he was working on a new project to be released sometime this year, and word came he was working on the new album. However, no release date was announced nor was any concrete evidence of what fans could expect from the new album.
Now, after the VMAs,, the name of the album, the release date and the first single are all known. It is just in time as well, since the main news came just 24 hours before the "Berzerk" Eminem single will hit iTunes.
Rick Ruben produced "Berzerk" and teamed with Dr. Dre to co-produce the entire "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" album. The entire album hits stores on Nov. 5.
That makes the news that the album is coming out seem instantaneous, but the news hitting just 24 hours before the single hits is just solid marketing as the "Berkerk" Eminem song will get a ton of publicity and still be fresh in the minds of fans when it hits iTunes tonight.
