Hop over to Berrybrook Farm for a tasty selection of vegetarian and vegan lunch items. The vegetarian deli and juice bar lures those who come to Berrybrook Farm to shop for vitamins and health food staples. However, many head to the Berrybrook juice bar as a lunch destination that they know and love.
When you walk into the store, you feel transported to another time and place. If you’re old enough, the store may remind you of the health food stores of 40 years ago. The fact that it feels like a homey hippie hangout may be because Berrybrook Farm first opened its doors in 1975, and it has always been privately owned and operated.
Berrybrook Farm juice bar staff members Savannah, Mary, and Amy work hard preparing the food onsite in the tiny kitchen behind the counter. For the benefit of their regular customers, they offer a monthly schedule of cold sandwiches, salads, and soups. If it’s Wednesday, you can count on finding the herb tofu sandwich and cool cucumber salad. The soups change daily and include Green Green Noodle, Spicy Brazilian Black Bean, Italian Lentil, Vegetarian Chili, and Gypsy Stew.
You will also find hot sandwiches like tofu dogs, veggie burgers and bean burritos served on all days. The juice menu lists fresh-pressed juices, including the Detox with OJ, grapefruit, lemon, and Grade B Maple Syrup; and smoothies such as the Mid-day Buzz with strawberry, pineapple, banana, apple juice, and bee pollen.
The Berrybrook Farm vegetarian deli and juice bar is open Monday to Saturday, 11 to 3:30pm.
Soups, smoothies and juices are served until 6:00.
