According to TSN on Tuesday, Calgary Flames goaltender Reto Berra will represent Switzerland at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.

Berra only has a record of 5-11-2 this season, but has a solid .903 save percentage and 2.92 goals against average. The rookie netminder has also beaten some impressive teams this year including the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks and the St. Louis Blues, who are a Stanley Cup contender.

Berra has great promise and will probably be a backup to Jonas Hiller of the Anaheim Ducks in between the Switzerland pipes. Hiller has sprarkled with the Ducks this season as he has gone 20-4-4 with a 2.42 goals against average and .911 save percentage. Still the gap between Hiller and Berra may not be as wide as the statistics show. That is because the Ducks are a Stanley Cup contender and the Flames are clearly in a rebuilding process.

The third Swiss goalie who was named to their Olympic team was former Dallas Stars goaltender Tobias Stephan, who currently plays in the Swiss-A League with Spengler Cup champion Geneve-Servette.

Switzerland will play its first game in the men's Olympic hockey tournament on February 12 against Latvia.
