The programs include both musical and non musical options and there will be informal performances for family and friends on the last day of the session.
The MakeBelievers curriculum is designed for pre K and Kindergarten ages. This class includes creative drama, emergent story-telling, and a first exposure to character development and improvisation. Students will be immersed in James and the Giant Peach and the extraordinary journey with a group of unlikely insect friends to New York. MakeBelievers interested in music and choreography can opt for Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. On trial for her crimes, Goldilocks looks like the sweet little innocent who would give her last sweetie. Could she really be the brazen crook who stole the porridge from under the snouts of the self-respecting, harmless Bears? The Jury will decide if she is really the brazen crook who stole the porridge from under the snouts of the self-respecting harmless bears.
MakeBelievers classes will meet 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
K through second grader can take their own version of the James and the Giant Peach and Goldilocks and the 3 Bears from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Performers in grades three though six can also participate in their own James and the Giant Peach program. Those young entertainers interested in a musical performance may join the Cinderella program. Dahl’s Cindy defies her Ugly Sisters, meets a magic fairy and lands a dance with the prince at the palace ball. But far from being the perfect gentleman, the prince turns out to be a perfect beast and an ace at chopping off heads. The magic fairy grants Cindy one more wish. Both programs include staging, dialog character development, and improvisation skills and meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
