On last night's episode of “Bering Sea Gold” titled "Dirtville" it is a bright sunny day in Nome. More than half of the season is gone, and the weather did not cooperate. Last week, Scott Meisterheim had a major meltdown, and his friends are at the end of their ropes.
Steve Reidel is a no-show on "Wild Ranger." On the "Christine Rose," they need $205,000 for their land payment, or they will be out of luck finding a place to dredge.
Zeke's night on the dredge to get an early start has been wasted, because John is late. Zeke is pissed at Emily because she was at the bar drinking last night and was a no-show today.
On "Anchor Management," the crew is waiting for their captain to show as their get the dredge ready to sail. When he finally arrives, he tells his crew that he is going to rehab and will be gone for a few weeks. He told them if they wanted to wait, he would come back a better person. Meanwhile, they are broke with no future prospects.
Shawn Pomrenke is going to jail for ten days, while Steve is praying that they get the gold to pay their note. Now there is another problem, the guy who owns half of the claim they are on is giving Cody a hard time as he tries to dredge. He is in a boat and is precariously close to the "Christine Rose." Steve has a rifle and plans to use it to scare the man, when he takes off before he can even come out on deck with the gun. Steve told Cody that he was sorry to leave him out there when the man showed up, but one Pomrenke in jail is enough.
The "Wild Ranger" arrived late to the public mining ground, and his daughter is there already. As she yells to her father she tells him to stay 800 feet away from their dredge as Daryl goes below. Daryl seems to be finding gold nonetheless. However, a sudden wind is causing turbulence below as the anchor pulls the dredge and Daryl away from his honey hole and jostling him around at the bottom of the sea. Daryl attempts to pull the anchor closer to his honey hole, but it is a futile effort.
On "The Edge," Zeke has been dredging all day and is still aggravated at Emily. Zeke needs to find gold and find it quickly, as he too is deep in debt. As John checks the fuel, he tells Zeke to be careful coming up because the waves are getting very rough. As he attempts to come aboard, the swells keep sucking him down. When he finally gets aboard, the tow line snaps on the skiff, and "The Edge" is very low on fuel. Zeke eventually made it onto the skiff.
The crew of the "Anchor Management" is preparing to leave without their captain; they cannot get the engine to keep running. As Todd is about to leave when Dan gives him a reminder that he is not the only one who left his life behind to come to Alaska.
The wind has blown the fleet off the water. At Vern's trailer, Flint is checking the fruits of Vern's labor. Steve Reidel is still a no-show, and he has been taking care of his home. When Vern and Daryl catch up with him, he had no remorse.
The same thing happened when Zeke caught up with Emily. He told his crew that he needed more motivated people on his dredge.
In Anchorage, Scott Meisterheim went to rehab; he knows that he needs plenty of help. Todd Allen is now homeless in Nome; his tent has been broken into twice, and his is drinking and smoking and needs to make money to get home to his sons as he reminisces with tears in his eyes.
So far, for the season; "Christine Rose" found 218.3 ounces worth $360,806.24. The "Wild Ranger" found 22.3 ounces worth $36,857.44. "The Edge" had 13.5 ounces worth $22,312.80, and "Anchor Management" still has 2.5 of an ounce for $4,132.00. Once again, the unpredictable people and weather make the "Bering Sea Gold" a very elusive find
