When one often thinks of alcohol types to blend to create a new flavor profile, Kentucky bourbon and apple liqueur are not the first which immediately come to mind. That is precisely the case though with the recent unveiling of Berentzen Bushel & Barrel.

Berentzen Bushel & Barrel, according German beverage group Berentzen, marries a unnamed Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey that’s been distilled and aged to specification with the company’s apple liqueur. This latter spirit is made from self-described “real sun-ripened apples” and grains according to standards the company says its fruit liqueurs have been following for over 250 years.

Flavor profile wise this spirit, pricing around $22 for a 750 ml offering, is said to have “the flavor of crisp, ripe apples along with spicy bourbon notes.” Some cocktail recipes are below for your consideration should you choose to buy a bottle of this at your local liquor store.
