An argument led to assault charges against Anum Raza,of the 2800 block of Carter Rd. Bensalem Police said that they were called to Carter Rd. just after 3:00 p.m. today, Aug 22, 2013 and found a woman lying in the street, in critical condition, after she was struck by a Honda Odyssey. After a brief investigation, it was determined that the driver and victim knew each other. in fact, they were sisters.
Within a few minutes , police began to think the act was intentional. The sun was shining behind the driver, the road was clear and dry and there were no obstructions. Still, the victim was hit with enough force to put her in critical condition. Her shoes came off of her feet on impact. To her credit, Raza stayed at the scene and did not attempt to flee.
She was charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangering another person. Her bail was set at $200 thousand dollars. She was unable to post it so she was remanded to the Bucks County Prison.
