Most people never get arrested. Some may get arrested for something they did not do and look forward to court to clear their name. A small minority of those arrested will skip bail and not show up for court at all. They think their crimes are so minor compared to murder and rape, that maybe the police forgot about them. They thought wrong. Today, May 8 2014, Police in Bensalem, working with State Constables and Philadelphia authorities, fanned out in the area to bring to justice 52 people that never showed up for court.
According to Bensalem police, cops were out just after dawn today, banging on doors, looking for fugitives. They got nine of the people they are looking for. While there are no murderers, and rapists on the list, there are quite a few alleged thieves and drug dealers and users.
The complete list of people wanted is attached to this article with a slide show. Scan through it, see if there is anyone you recognize. You may be surprised. The hard working man or woman on your street might have a secret they have not told anyone. They could be anywhere. It's nothing for someone to get arrested for theft and then move without going to court. They think it's behind them. Wrong again.
Imagine you were wanted for theft from 1985 and you never went to court. Then one day you get pulled over and you are with your kids. You actually forgot about getting arrested for stealing almost 30 years ago. Maybe you took an overseas trip and come back into the United States. Guess what? You are going to jail in front of your family or your co workers. That's why it's important to make court dates. So if the Bensalem sweep does not get all of the fugitives on this list, time is on the side of the cops. If you see yourself here it is best to make arrangements with the court to turn yourself in, before you get taken in and embarrassed in front of people that respect you.
