'Wolfman' Benicio del Toro visited the Howard Stern Show studios Thursday morning to promote his new film and pass on a few kind words for in absentia co-host Artie Lange.
Benicio del Toro told Howard Stern that his wild days of being an on-set diva and sleeping with his co-stars are over. "That's when I was a little Wolf Boy," said del Toro, referring to one of his first film and TV roles as 'Wolf Boy' in Pee Wee's Big Adventure. The 'Wolfman' now scores somewhere in the range of $5 million per picture and acts as a consummate professional, according to his own report.
Howard Stern already gave a rave review of 'The Wolfman,' last week and the King of All Media was, of course, interested in collecting dirty details about Benicio del Toro's 'The Wolfman' co-star Emily Blunt. del Toro denied any off-screen romance with Blunt, but allowed Stern to wax philosophic on Blunt's sexual prowess. Stern predicted that 'The Wolfman' would be the number one movie at this weekend's box office.
Benicio del Toro then brought up the one subject that can shake the unflappable Stern: the plight of missing Howard Stern Show co-host Artie Lange. Artie Lange is currently at an undisclosed private facility recovering from a violent suicide attempt in early January.
"I'm sorry about Artie," said Benicio del Toro from out of nowhere. "I just wanted to put that out there...I like him."
del Toro and Lange became fast friends during Benicio's 2009 Howard Stern Show visit to promote his epic biopic 'Che'.
Howard Stern responded to the Lange non-sequiter by first noting that del Toro had brought the show to a screeching halt, and then allowed the chaos of the studio to take the conversation elsewhere.
'The Wolfman' starring Benicio del Toro and Emily Blunt opens Friday, February 12th.

This promises to be Danny Elfman's best score in years. He features the viola playing melodies throughout the score. For those who are familiar with viola, you realize how rare and beautiful this could be.
