Benghazi debacle: disgusting cover up of a cover up

The current Benghazi hearings make one thing very clear—politicos in the Obama administration are masters of diversion and deception. Although, after Defense Secretary Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dempsey testified yesterday, the truth is coming out.

Our government simply did not respond in the protection of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans during the Benghazi attacks.

Instead, this administration chose to protect coveted political assets, and the ensuing cover up of the cover up is disgusting. A number of al-Qaeda rebels shouting 'Allahu Akbar' blatantly murdered four brave Americans, a tragedy that could have been avoided.

By all means, people should be held accountable.

Rewinding back to the hearings in November 2012, Eric Nordstrom, former security chief in Libya, said the State Department ignored his pleas for more security, despite 'multiple attacks against the consulate.'

Nordstrom also testified that Charlene Lamb, the deputy assistant secretary for international programs under Hillary Clinton,

‘Wanted to keep the number of U.S. security personnel in Benghazi low.’

Nordstrom also said Lamb believed the Benghazi facilities

‘. . . did not need any diplomatic security special agents because there was a residential safe haven to fall back to in an emergency,’ and that his requests 'were blocked by a department policy to ‘normalize operations and reduce security resources.’

Amazingly, according to recent testimony, top officials, including the president, did not communicate with each other. Panetta, Dempsey, Clinton and the president did not discuss the matter beyond Panetta's initial report to the president.

Critical questions remain--between the hours of 6:00pm and midnight on the night of the attacks, where were the president and Secretary Clinton? Why did our officials not communicate and take action? Were they AWOL during the entire episode?

Furthermore, who commissioned U.N. Ambassador Rice to conjure up the deceptive story about an anti-Muslim video being the cause of the attacks?

As this story continues to unfold, a more repulsive scandal emerges.
