On Wednesday, the friendship between Cincinnati Bengals wide receivers Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens took a turn for the worst thanks to a Twitter feud involving the latest dram surrounding their quarterback--Carson Palmer.
Ochocinco has received plenty of heat over the last few weeks ever since Palmer announced a few weeks ago he would consider retirement if the Bengals failed to meet his demands for a trade. Now, the controversial wideout is blaming his teammate (for at least the time being) and close friend for Palmer wanting to retire.
Here are the messages exchanged between Ocho and Owens through Twitter on Wednesday:
"@terrellowens Man its your (blank) fault my QB is retiring, I should whoop your (blank) cause they're blaming me you (blank) Diva!!!"
"@ochocinco I should whoop ur (blank) 4 asking me 2 come 2 Cincy! Yeh it's my fault tht he's retiring but not if I woulda had 15 TDs instead of 9."
"@terrellowens (blank) yo touchdowns we went 4-12 and now my QB is leaving and they blaming me,you taking 50% of the blame for this (blank)!!!"
"@ochocinco And so much ur "Batman & Robin" idea!!"
"@ochocinco Where the (blank) ws Robin all year?"
Throughout the 2010 offseason, Ochocinco lobbied numerous times for the Bengals to sign Owens as another weapon to a passing game that finished just 26th in 2009. While they seemed to get along throughout the regular season, Wednesday's feud proves that maybe there was some frustration between the two controversial wideouts after all.
