The 2013 NFL live streaming and TV games will wrap up on Sunday with a featured Sunday Night Football matchup between fierce division rivals. One of them is out of the playoffs, but the other is still looking to win their division. It will be the Cincinnati Bengals (9-4) visiting the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-8) with Dalton and Cincy still trying to clinch a playoff spot and the AFC North. Today’s televised and live streaming NFL game will be presented via NBC sports networks.
A report on Dec. 15 via SBNation indicates that Cincinnati is currently among the teams that would make the playoffs if they started right now. The Bengals at 9-4 overall, are ranked third in the AFC behind just the Broncos and Patriots. Today’s game takes on special meaning for them, as all they need is a win to clinch the AFC North division. In addition, a win today as well as a Miami loss will clinch a playoff spot for the Bengals.
The Steelers are still listed as “in the hunt” along with teams like the 7-6 Dolphins, 7-7 Raiders and 6-7 Jets. So, a Pittsburgh win could keep their playoff hopes alive for a wildcard spot. However, Big Ben and crew have had a tough season, so their windows is quickly closing. The Steelers are 5-8 in the division, and coming off a loss at home to the Miami Dolphins 34-28 just last week. They currently are among top ten teams when it comes to passing offense and defense, so it should be interesting to see who win’s tonight’s quarterback battle, Roethlisberger or Dalton.
The Bengals currently sport one of the best overall defenses in the NFL, as they rank seventh in passing yards defense allowing just 222.4 yards per game to opponents, and fifth in rushing defense, as they allow opponents an average of just 98.2 yards on the ground. Currently, Vontaze Burfict leads the league with 139 tackles, with the next closest defensive player trailing him by eight tackles. The Bengals aren’t necessarily one of the best offenses in the NFL, but Dalton ranks ninth among QB’s for total yards with 3,419 so far this season. He’s also thrown 26 touchdowns, with A.J. Green his top receiver. Green has 1,175 yards on the season and 8 touchdowns on 78 receptions, so far.
Odds makers have the visiting Bengals listed as 2 point favorites over the home team Steelers. The line initially opened with Cincinnati favored by a point earlier this week. For the over/under bet, the total points for the game is set at 43 at various sports books. There’s a 30% chance of light snow tonight in Pittsburgh, with the temperature at kickoff expected to only reach the low 20’s with a wind chill of 7.
Sunday night’s Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh NFL game will have a start time of 8:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The game will be televised in standard and hi-definition on cable or satellite via NBC and local affiliate stations around the United States. Additionally, NBC Sports Live Extra will be live streaming tonight’s game on their website. It will include extra features such as interactive stats, Twitter feed and much more.
